My all-time favourite artist, Michael Jackson sings a song I have to listen to almost every day. He sings about change to make this world a better place beginning with each one of us. For the longest time I have been looking to do something meaningful with my life. Something that personifies the values I have grown to love and values that drive me.

When I joined MST, I was so glad to be a part of a company that practice what they preach. Seeing a company that cares about people internally and externally in a way that I do, that aims to make a difference in the community the way I have wanted to, has been the most gratifying feeling I have felt in a while.

I had the privilege of being a part of the launch of the roll-out of our Mobile Lodgement Offices with Department of Rural Development in Qwaqwa, Free State on 25 April 2015. Witnessing a full stadium with around 25,000 people was overwhelming, and being a part of this phase of helping claimants get back what was taken from them, gave me such pride. I was approached by a lady who expressed how grateful she was that the government had met their needs in this way, I got goose bumps listening to her story.

I know with all the unpleasant things we see on the news it can feel like what we do does not have an impact, but I have realised that to make a difference doesn’t have to be huge. It can simply be giving your time, sharing your knowledge and experience, and Mahatma Gandhi once said: “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

I look forward to doing my part in making a difference and inspire people during my time with Mobile Processing Solutions. I want someone to look at me and say “Because of you, I didn’t give up”.
